Abstract

Different models have been proposed to investigate the effects of various process parameters on shrinkage of plastic parts, which in most cases the effect of each parameter is obtained by changing one factor at a time. In this research, a simple flat model has been used and a simulation code has been developed. Then, through this simulation code, the effects of different process parameters have been investigated. This code was run for a typical thermoplastic (polycarbonate) and finally, a Design Of Experiments (DOE) approach was used to study the effects of multiple variables on shrinkage simultaneously.
